Facebook 101 - The Complete Getting Started Guide

Hey! Thanks for stopping by the Facebook 101 page. In case you haven’t heard of it before, Facebook 101 is an ebook that I wrote specifically with the new Facebook user in mind. Let me give you a little background about myself and this guide before I go any further.

I’ve been on Facebook years. I actually joined back in 2005. During this time, Facebook was only open to college students. Initially, I avoided Facebook like the plague. I just didn’t see the point of it. But, eventually, I caved in to peer pressure (that seems to happen a lot in college).

However, after joining, I immediately became a Facebook evangelist. I completely fell in love with their social platform. The design was different. The interface was clean. The navigation was intuitive. I loved just about everything Facebook offered.

I made some incredible connections using Facebook. The site allowed me to create some new and powerful relationships while, at the same time, strengthen my existing ones. Little did I know, that a few years later - after Facebook decided to open registration to everyone - people would begin to use the site for marketing and business.

“Business is a contact sport.”

At Facebook, a lot of emphasis was placed on building relationships and helping people to connect in more interactive and dynamic ways. This meant that online marketers, business professionals, and entrepreneurs would have to connect with others in ways that were, perhaps, somewhat foreign to the world of social networking.

Soon, after realizing this, I began to start building some important and valuable business relationships with others. It didn’t take long for me to realize that there was something to this whole “using Facebook for business” concept.

Now, like I mentioned earlier, I’ve been a Facebook user for years. Because of this, I’m extremely familiar with the site’s culture, the way information is structured, organized, and disseminated, the various communication tools (e.g. chat, messaging, wall posts, events, etc.) and how to effectively use them, and much more than I have time to share here.

For whatever reason, I assumed that others were as familiar with Facebook as I was. The past few months have shown me otherwise. People have busy lives. Some have the 9 to 5. Others have to raise kids. Many have to do both. At the end of the day, there isn’t a lot of time left to do things like learn Facebook — at least on a “trial-and-error, stumbling around in a dark room” basis.

So, as a result, I made Facebook 101 - The Getting Started Guide. This was my very first “digital creation” so I wanted it to be absolutely perfect. As a result, I’ve put together a step-by-step guide filled with notes, annotations, and illustrations to serve as a complete guide for new users.

I’ve received on overwhelming amount of positive feedback about Facebook 101. Even those who have been on Facebook for a while told me that they found it valuable. I’m completely confident when I say I believe you’ll find it valuable as well.

How to download Facebook 101:

A few people have told me that I should be charging money for what I’m offering. And while I know this ebook is highly valuable, I, instead, decided to offer it as a free gift. The only thing you have to do is subscribe to this website. When you subscribe, you’ll get notifications sent to your inbox whenever I add new content to the site. And, of course, you can opt-out at any time. Okay, let’s get started. Just follow these directions below:

  1. Enter your name and email address into the form below.
  2. Click the “Submit” button and check your email address for the confirmation letter.
  3. Locate the confirmation link in the email and click the link to open the download page.

Enter Your First Name:

Enter Your Valid Email Address:

That’s it! Everything else you need will be on that page.

Now, before I go, I do want to throw a caveat out there. Facebook is in the process of rolling out massive changes to the site. However, it doesn’t appear that these changes have gone site-wide just yet. Some users are still seeing the older layout and profile view. The ebook was written before these changes.

If you’re using the new profile design, I’d still recommend subscribing to the website. I’ll be uploading content on a regular basis that’ll show you how to use Facebook’s new layout and how to get the most out of it.

With that said, thanks for taking the time join my website. I’m looking forward to connecting with each and every one of you! I hope you enjoy reading the ebook. If you have any feedback, please feel free to leave your comments here — or you can send them to me directly. Thanks again!
